My favorite teams

Hello!

In this post I decided to talk about my favorite ice hockey teams.

In Liiga my favorite team is definitely Oulun Kärpät. It has good players, for example Mika Pyörälä and Lasse Kukkonen. There used to play two talented young players called Jesse Puljujärvi and Sebastian Aho but they both left to NHL. Jesse is one of my favorite ice hockey players.

In season 2015-2016 Oulun Kärpät won bronze medal in Liiga but in this season they were out already in the first round of playoffs.

My favorite NHL team is Minnesota Wild. It is sometimes also called as the Finnish team of NHL because there plays three Finns: Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu (C) and Erik Haula. My favorite is Mikael Granlund. He is very skilful player.
Minnesota started their season very well this year, but playoffs didn't went that good. Minnesota was out from the first round of the playoffs this year.

I took this picture last September when I went to see game between TPS (Turun Palloseura) and Oulun Kärpät. If you squint you eyes very hard, you might see that the number of this player is 17 and his last name is Pyörälä.

Welcome to my blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I started this blog as a part of my English course in school. I'm going to write about me and my life which includes ice hockey. I don't play ice hockey that much myself but I love to follow it. I think that ice hockey is one of the most entertaining sports in this world. There happens so much even though one game lasts only 60 minutes.  I follow a few of the worlds biggest hockey leagues. Mostly I follow NHL or Finnish league called Liiga. And of course I follow the Ice Hockey World Championships which is probably the best thing in this world. Yesterday was the final of U18 World Championships. It was between USA and Finland. USA won the gold and I was a little upset, but silver medal is also a great achievement.  I hope you enjoy my blog.  Pinja :)

My thoughts about the first round of the NHL playoffs

Hi! In this post I decided to talk about the first round of the NHL playoffs. Below are the teams who played in the first round. Winners are underlined. Washington Capitals - Toronto Maple Leafs Pittsburgh Penguins - Columbus Blue Jackets Montreal Canadiens - New York Rangers Ottawa Senators - Boston Bruins Chicago Blackhawks - Nashville Predators Minnesota Wild - St. Louis Blues Anaheim Ducks - Calgary Flames Edmonton Oilers - San Jose Sharks I have two top favorite teams which are Minnesota Wild (as you might already know :D ) and Anaheim Ducks. Ducks made it well to the second round, but unfortunately Wild didn't. Anaheim is going to play against Edmonton Oilers. My dream is someday to travel to North America and go see a few NHL games. I know it's going to take a while until I am able to do it, but when it happens it's worth it. :) Pinja :)
